Most odd indeed, does the same problem happen on both 2.4 and 5GHz wifi?

Could you also confirm which firmware version you are running?

Hi, I'm running firmware 3.0.0.4.380_7266.>
>I did upgrade the firmware 4 days ago to 380_7378 but rolled it back thinking it may have been that.>
>Its odd as when you click on the mail app on say an iPhone you see along the top next to the wireless signal the scrolling round symbol for a very long time, yet on 4g it scrolls for a few seconds.>

So it was all working before the upgrade and then downgrade?

If so then I would advise a factory reset and rebuild from scratch, not from backup

Hope this helps?

I was trying to avoid that but it seems the only logical way forward. >What fun, time to screen shot everything.>
