This thread is listed in the Elite Posts.
I'm sure others have figured it out but this is what I came up with.
Basic windows 8 setup for O!PLAY, use local account, no homegroup and an EVERYONE permission share for the media you are sharing with the O!PLAY.
Network discovery on with no auto setup
file and printer sharing on
user account to connect to other computers
no public share
password protected sharing off

These are the reg edits needed for it to work.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa]
LimitBlankPasswordUse= 1
NoLmHash = 0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa]
everyoneincludesanonymous = 1
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\LanmanServer\Parameters]
restrictnullsessaccess = 0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanManServer\Parameters\ NullSessionPipes Type in "null"

Hope that helps someone,
Cheers Ryan

Thanks, this worked perfectly for me. I can still be logged into the machine itself using a Live account

Is there anyway to get this to work with a homegroup?

As I have done all of the steps and the player's still not finding anything
