Hi,

How can I access/mount a NAS CIFS share inside a telnet session on my router?

I've tried mount -t cifs //xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/public /tmp/mnt/xpto -o username=xxxxx. password=xxxxxx and receive a message saying "no such device"

I'm not an expert on this, I've googled a lot and nothing comes....

Any clue?

Regards,

I don't think Asus has SMB client support in the firmware.

I think so too. And an Optware package, any idea?

TomatoUSB shibby build supports up to 3 network shares.
I use it. No problems at all. Try it.

My question is not how implement shares on USB pen/disk, but how to access a NAS on the network. I want to be able to mount a CIFS volume...

I added the cifs.ko kernel module in my build, will be included in my next release.

I could provide you with the module, but since the original Asus firmware doesn't support custom user scripts, you would have to telnet in and manually remount the share every time you reboot the router.

That is exactly what I responded.
Tomato has that feature.

Thx Deepcuts,

I understood now what you mean. For instance, how you evaluate Tomato? I'm not sure if I'm prepared to flash it to RT-N66U... I've already a bad experience with Tomato and a Linksys WRT610 v1.

Regards,
