Hey guys,
I'm having a weird issue and I hope you can help.
My setup has a P8Z77-V and a intel SSD on the grey Sata connetor, however when I power on i get a cursor on the screen and I need to press any key to boot the PC.
Is that normal?

You can update the bios
class="url-container" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: 'Segoe UI', Arial, 'Microsoft Jhenghei', PMingLiu, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: -webkit-auto; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; ">http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1155/P8Z77-V/P8Z77-V-ASUS-1205.zip

Forgot to mention... everything was working 100% except this issue at boot.

class="messageContainer">

Just tried everything... except the obvious (not!).

Today I disassembled everything, from every fan to every dimm... and just when I was almost giving up I remembered the one thing I never tried because I knew it would give an error!!
Keyboard off... POST passed, keyboard missing error... as I expected. BUT THE DAMN THING didn't show the cursor! Clean boot to the error.

now I know... ASUS boards are incompatible with CHERRY PS2 keyboards... who knew!

Thanks guys.

Fix it ASUS!

I have a similar problem. I have 8 drives connected. 6 Seagate 3TB drives set up in 3x3TB RAID1 arrays, with a kingston 120gb ssd on the asmedia controller along with a DVD burner. The SSD has no issues at all on the asmedia controller or the intel one if its on its own or with the DVD, but will only boot sometimes if the 3TB drives are attached. If it boots, it has no issues. If it doesn't then it just loops. I was going to try changing the asmedia controllers mode from AHCI to IDE to see if that helped, but there are no options for the asmedia controller. Any help would be appreciated. This is a system I am building for a client as a cheap storage server. I will post this to support too, but if anyone has any ideas, that would be great

Chris, do you mind confirming which BIOS build are you working with at the moment?

I assume the six 3TB RAIDed drives are set up as GPT/data drives - all on Intel? (If not you will not see whole drive/volume - only 2.047TB)
I also assume SSD is boot drive and is in MSDOS MBR mode
In these cases its always best to set up all drives as GPT - like your SSD as booting GPT mode.

You should also set keep current in bios boot page so that it will go back to your booting SSD ignoring looking for other possibilities

Can also set bios to ignore legacy drives

You also have a lot of drives whereas your PSU may not be quick enough to get the +12V going at full every time. I am not talking about the load, but reaction time to load.

What PSU?
