Hey all, in my effort to not keep only boxes around I ended up throwing away the box with my serial number.  I have identified a sticker on the MOBO under the SATA3 connectors.  It is a string of letters and numbers of about 28 characters, which is too long.

Where on the mobo is the serial number so I can register my product?

The following blocks of characters are on that sticker.

8 numbers
6 numbers
6 alpha/numeric
1 number
3 alpha/numeric
4 numbers

Any help is appreciated.

Hi W: Look for an alphanumeric string with M being the 3rd.

The example Ghe posted above, shows that the motherboard was manufactured in November, 2009.

Serial Number layout:
1st character - last figure of manufacturing year (1-9, A- )
2nd character - manufacturing month (1-9, A-C)
3rd character - "M" = Motherboard, "N" = Notebook
