When I upgraded my BIOS recently to 705 that now in the BIOS after switching the SATA port mode to RAID u get 2 options Legacy RAID drivers or UEFI RAID driver. I am curious what the UEFI RAID driver does differently? When I selected this my computer failed to see any HDD I had connected so I had to revert to the Legacy Driver. I have a series of drives in my system that are configured in a RAID setup (the ones i want to break out into the enclosure mentioned in my eSATA post) so I need the ports set to RAID.

It is not really an issue just more a curiosity that I would like to see if anyone can explain.

Hi Andy..

I'm not totally sure.. but the difference may have something to do with GPT as opposed to MBR...  involved with breaking the 2.2TB barrier for Windows...  Others may know more..
