Frustrated owner:
Plugging in the slave usb connection is highly intermittant. The HD2 recognises that a connection has been made but, on two pc's I have tried, I get a windows report of hardware failure. Occasionally windows does recognise it, I start file transfers and then it fails and sometimes it does work! When I first got it a couple of weeks ago this didn't seem to be a problem. The unit does get pretty warm/hot (has a WD drive in it which is on the list in the box) and I wonder whether it has started cooking itself?
I have asked for RMA but wondered whether anyone else had similar issues?

My Asus oplay is also warm at the top. I think it is very normal, because the chipset is assembled at the top side.

Has anyone had ANY issues with the pc link connection, such as your pc not recognising the HD2 as external storage when attached? I have two of these boxes (one to give to a colleague) and my Hd2 yesterday refused to commincate with either of my pc's via usb (tried 2 different leads as well). Before sending it back I tried the HDD in the second unopened HD2 and it worked flawlessly through USB. So as a final check I put the HDD back and connected the pc link - now I cannot get it to go wrong!! I had tried all the simple turn it off and on (HD2 and pc's) previously but it now appears to work.
Any ideas or similar experiences?
PS By warm I mean the HDD when its been on for an hour or so it so hot at the edges you can barely hold it.

My experience: I have had one issue with my internal HDD, a WD Caviar Green 500gb. On one occasion, after switching the player on it did not recognise the HDD. I resolved it by switching off with the remote and then disconnecting the power lead from the unit and then putting it back in. After switching back on the HDD was recognised and has been OK since. This incident happened prior to the firmware upgrade. It has always read my USB stick but I have not connected it directly to my PC with a USB cable.

My wishlist:
1) Possibility to set bookmarks for network folders. Navigation to my movies is currently very unsatisying. 2) Possibility to set pin codes for specific folders (no matter if local or network). Useful for adult movies! Or entering a pin code on startup. If someone doesnt know the pin code, some (pre-configured) folders will be locked or hidden and also the setup will be locked. 3) YOUTUBE 4) Possibility to see the movie file names in the browser instead of the movie names contained in the avi tag.
