Hello to all,

OK recently I down-loaded the new ASUS "Live Update" and now that it's in my computer the window keep showing up and can't get it to go away!!!! This happens every time I boot up my 1005HA. How do I get the window to go away????? Besides can anyone tell me what it's for anyway????? It doesn't appear to do anything for me good nor bad.

Thanks for any responses and help!

ASUS Live Update's only purpose is to check you BIOS if (and when necessary install) it is the latest version.

You have 2 options:
  1. Uninstall it all together! **
  2. Edit your register to prevent it from running after every boot.
Uninstall
I think you can manage doing that all by yourself  ;-)

Edit register
In order to prevent ASUS Live Update from being launched after every new boot you can delete an entry in:

Computer\Hkey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\

or
Computer\Hkey_Local_Macine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\

Remove entry ASUS Live Update with value ALU.exe. That's all.

** I would suggest removing it completely anyway and use EZ-Flash to update my BIOS.

Nikita,

Thank you for the info. If  it's solely designed for bios check-up only then didn't have to make such a big deal out of it! They could make it work in the back-ground instead of a big window???

Oh well. Live and learn.

Or you could just right click the Asus Live Update icon on your taskbar, then click Schedule, then click None.
