I'm sure this is prolly something easy to fix, but I just can't figure it out.  When I try to scroll using my touchpad, the pointer turns into an icon for scrolling but thats it.  It wont scroll.  I have to use the left button or the up and down arrows.  I do have the settings set up to allow vertical and horizonal scrolling.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

I have the same problem. I've tried changing all the relevant settings (including whether the selected window is scrolled or the window under the pointer) as well as resetting the settings to the defaults.

Perhaps re-installing the driver might help? Failing that, maybe installing the very latest driver from the Synaptics website: http://www.synaptics.com/support/drivers

This has happened to me and reinstalling the driver is what I did and it worked.  I also kept the copy of the driver just in case it should happen again.

Try this out press harder at the very right hand side of the mouse pad
and also to scroll right and left press harder on the BOTTOM of the Pad
you can adjust how hard you press in the mouse pad controll panel
mine works fine but it is better to have it set to about middle pressure
let me know if this works
