If you already know the hard drive password, this is how you remove the password.
When you turn on the netbook, press the <F2> button to enter Setup. Then it will ask for the hard drive password:
(Press <ESC> to switch to Master Password)
So, press the <ESC> key.
Then it will say:
Hard Disk locked, enter master password:
(Press <ESC> to skip)
So, press the <ESC> key again.
It will say:
Skipped.. Hard Disk is still locked!
WARNING: Continue booting with ... some OS.
Hit ENTER to continue...
So hit the ENTER key.
The netbook will open the BIOS. Arrow over to Security and you will see that the hard drive password lines are now blue and accessible.
When you select the line you want, hit ENTER and it will ask you for the password. You need to enter the hard drive password then hit ENTER. Then it will ask you for a password again, hit ENTER on the empty box to disable the password. The second password box pops up in case you want to change the password.
The reason that the password box was grey out before is because you had already unlocked the hard drive and the hard drive was, "in use."
