The Manual for the P7H55D-M EVO motherboard has a few bullet points about "Hyper Dimm", and support for more than one pair of DIMMs at 1600 speeds.  It seems to imply that you can install 4 DIMMs at DDR-1600... Yet I can find nothing in the manual, or on the web, that explains this or clarifies it.

So what is this?  Empty marketing hype?  Or something real?  If it's real, where can I learn more?

Thanks for any information.

OK.... I did.

All it says is this, which doesn't really explain or clarify anything.  The Overclock section sheds no light on it either.

Is there someplace I can read about
- What Hyper DIMM is?
- How it works?

ASUS exclusively provides hyper DIMM support function.
2. Hyper DIMM support is subject to the physical characteristics of individual CPUs.
3. According to Intel spec definition, DDR3-1600 is supported for one DIMM per channel only. ASUS exclusively provides two DDR3-1600 DIMM support for each memory channel.
4. According to Intel CPU spec, CPUs with a core frequency of 2.66G support the maximum DIMM frequency of up to DDR3-1333. To use DIMMs of a higher frequency with a 2.66G CPU, enable the DRAM O.C. Profile feature in
BIOS. Refer to section 3.5 Ai Overclock Tuner in user manual for details.

From my understanding, Hyper-DIMM supposed to be the high performance DIMMs beyond the oringinal specification set out by Intel.  i.e. DDRIII-1600+ can be seem as Hyper-DIMM.  You can use them via setting your DIMMs to operate under X.M.P. Profile (Profile set out by DIMM vendor) or D.O.C.P. (Profile set out by Asus) mode.
