Hey,

I've purchased the O!play for about a week now, and is it just me or does it sometimes not respond to the remote and doesn't turn on at all. I'd have to unplug the power and plug it back for it to boot. Are there any solutions for this?

Thanks!

More and more people report the same problem , so maybe someone from Asus would look at that issue. "Sometimes" means that after resetting the power it works (unit can be turn on from the  remote) but one or two days later you can not do it any longer and resetting the power is required.

Hi,

Can you be more specific?
Is it "sometimes" won't turn on, or "always" won't turn on?

In my case: "always" won't turn on.

My OPlay will turn off and on via the remote if I try to turn it back on immediately after I turn it off. If I turn it off at the end of the night and then try to use it again the next day I must power cycle it to use it again. I did notice however that my external USB HD enclosure does get power the next day after I turn it on but the red light on the OPlay never changes to blue until I power cycle it. Once the external HD powers up and the OPlay status light remains red the device is unresponsive to the remote until it is power cycled.

this will be solved with a firmware update or it is a hardware failure?

I too have experienced this and have had to unplug it in order to be able to turn it on again.  This device is the most buggy device I've ever purchased.   My advice to others....STAY AWAY UNTIL ALL OF THE BUGS ARE FIXED.
