I have the same problem, it won't turn on until I unplug it. Maybe it's an firmware issue and is already solved with the newest one?

p.s.: in my case it's not happening "sometimes" but everytime after i turn it off on evening and try to turn it on next morning!

Hi, Niff, in my case is everytime too.

There is a new firmware here: ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/asus/Digital_Media_Player/HDP-R3/Firmware/

I will try later, but i've read that adds an option for power settings. This makes me think that it could be solved... i hope. :)

1.09?  I thought that 1.06 was the current stable release.  When were1.07 and 1.08 released.

Thanks,

Does it contain release notes?  Asus - why the skip in version numbers?

1. Never be the first to install firmware on any kind of device - some companies don't fully test their firmware. Just look at all the XBox360's and PS3's that have gotten bricked by firmware updates.

2. Make sure you install the firmware for the correct TV system (PAL/NTSC) which the device was designed for.

3. Before you install new firmware, make sure you reset the device to factory defaults.

I'm still using 1.05N

Any suggestions if this problem can be solved? Otherwise i'll return it to the retailer (until wednesday i'll get my money back).
Maybe WD TV HD Live is the better choice :/
