I had a working Splendid utility in Windows Vista. It made my monitor look a lot better.

When I upgraded to Windows 7 retail, I downloaded the Win7 64-bit version of the utility off the support website, but when I try to install it I get an error that the program is not a valid program.

The Vista version installs and runs, but does not actually adjust my monitor, so it doesn't work.

I did not get Windows 7 for free from ASUS's offer, because when I put in my serial number, it says it is invalid because it doesn't have enough digits in it. I'm guessing that if I did get an upgrade from ASUS, I would get a Windows 7 Utility Disk, and those utilities would actually work.

How do I get Windows Splendid utility to work in Windows 7 64-bit?

I had the same problem for 10 minutes going blue in the face.  Then I realized the serial number is written on TWO lines!  Then everything worked.

go to download section, pick the G51 and download Splendid utility. Done

I can confirm that works.  The different file under the G51VX download works correctly while the G71 is broken due to the driver detection failure.  Thanks for the tidbit...  Not that I missed the utility, but good to know...
