Has anyone got a link to the correct Audio drivers for Windows 7 (64bit) for the M4A78T-E.  I have looked on the site but Audio is not listed as available yet for Win 7 (64bit).  I have tried the Vista one but no luck, I can get audio out but no microphone.

I know Win 7 is not out yet officially but as a technet subscriber I have the RTM installed and in the process of testing.

Hoping someone can help

Cheers

I  can't help but I can confirm the problem: I just installed Windows 7 RC 64-bit on my system that uses an M478T-E motherboard. Windows installed fine but the audio does not work. Device Manager does not show any issues (no yellow exclamation marks), it just doesn't work. No drivers are available as an optional update on Windows Update. Installing the latest ATI drivers did not solve the problem. Asus does not show audio drivers available for Windows 7 for this motherboard at this time.

I know it's not the motherboard that's the problem because it's a dual-boot system. Windows XP still runs just fine with Audio.

And while I'm commenting, I'm disappointed that ATI's graphics drivers for Win7-64 do not have the usual full support I see in, for instance, XP. I run this computer as a "home-server/entertainment" system, connected only to a 42" plasma display. In XP, the ATI drivers recognize 720P as a separate output mode and allow for changing the viewport width and height through the Catalyst software. The Win7-64 Catalyst has no such features.

Anyway, I guess we have to wait for Asus to post 64-bit audio drivers....

Yes it would seem indeed the wait is what we have to do.  Kinda annoying as the Beta and then the RC have been out for quite a while, but I know they have quite a bit to do and support - just hoping the Win 7 64-bit Audio drivers are released very soon.....

Still no news?  Asus techs/devs - I'd be happy to beta test if you have anything

Cheers

bro try with W7 32Bits, you only will lose between 500-600MB. is not bad you can play a lot of games with sounds!...lol...and you can to listen music, play movies with sound!!!!!
while asus or via develop a new sound driver for W7 64b, you can use the vista driver without problem in W7 32b.

Hi,
Try version 7.300A  dated 8/21/09
I just loaded these from
http://www.viaarena.com/displaydrivers.aspx?Drivers.aspx?PageID=&OSID=37&CatID=2930&SubCatID=202

I haven't checked everything but they seem much better than what we had before.  The audio deck now has much more functionality.   I haven't tried the front panel or hdmi yet but so far everything seems to work.  I have been having some real flakey trouble being able to record a song from youtube with CoolEdit 2000.  Some time it would work and others it wouldn't, it seemed that no matter how I set it up I couldn't get it to record.  Then for some reason it started to work and I never did figure out what I changed.  I tried it with this new driver and it works.
I hope it's stable.

I see you updated your post, I was wondering why you didn't give them the link to the drivers.  That was like saying I have some candy but you can't have none.
