Disconnecting USB device causes Wireless network adapter to lose connection [P5K-E/WIFI-AP]

I installed Windows Vista x64 on my computer and used the motherboard's built-in wireless adapter to connect to a wireless router. Everything worked fine until I noticed that whenever I remove a USB device, the wireless suddenly loses its connection with the router.

Any ideas of what's causing this or how to fix it?

I am having the same problem for all my 5 computers.
They all have the same specs except for hard drive / disc drives and graphics card.

My temporary fix:
GUI:
Start Orb > Control Panel > View network status and tasks > Manage network connections > Select "Wireless Network Connection" > Disable this network device > Enable this network device

Command Line:
netsh interface set interface "Wireless Network Connection" DISABLE
netsh interface set interface "Wireless Network Connection" ENABLE

It's still not the solution to the problem, but it works when I need it. It does get annoying when I have to use USB devices and the Internet at the same time, though.
This is why I want a solution to this problem.

Details:
Motherboard: ASUS P5K-E/WIFI-AP LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX
CPU: Intel Core2 Duo CPU, E4500 @ 2.20GHz @ 2.2GHz
Memory Total: 4095MB DDR2
OS: Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate x64 - 6.0.6001 SP1
Display: 1920x1200 @ 59Hz on Generic PnP Monitor and NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS
Network: Realtek RTL8187 Wireless 802.11g 54Mbps USB 2.0 Network Adapter

Hi
Did you tried to se plug and play os bios option to yes?
What usb device impact wireless adapter?

I changed the Plug and Play OS option to YES in the BIOS but I still have this problem.

When I booted into Windows after I enabled PCIPnP / Plug and Play, I started to get some weird C++ Runtime Errors and driver crashes, so maybe doing this has made it become worse?

From the motherboard manual:
Quote:
USB connectors (10-1 pin USB 78, USB 910, USB 11 12)
These connectors are for USB 2.0 ports. Connect the USB module cable to any of these connectors, then install the module to a slot opening at the back of the system chassis. These USB connectors comply with USB 2.0 specification that supports up to 480 Mbps connection speed.

I plugged in USB devices into my computer's front, top, and back USB ports. I found out that only the front and top USB ports were causing the disconnection problem, but the USB ports on the back do not have the problem.

The front and top USB ports connected internally are called USB1112 and USB78. From the manual (above), USB1112 and USB78 are 10-1 pin connectors on the motherboard.

I used the ASUS Q-Connectors to plug these USB connections in. However, I don't think this is the cause.

Mostly, I have tested using USB flash drives and USB hard drives. I also tested some other USB devices with the same symptoms.

Here are my USB Configurations in BIOS:
USB Functions - [Enabled]
USB 2.0 Controller - [Enabled]
USB 2.0 Controller Mode - [HiSpeed]
BIOS EHCI Hand-Off - [Enabled]
Part 64/60 Emulation - [Disabled]
Legacy USB Support - [Auto]
USB Mass Storage Devices Configuration
> USB Mass Storage Device Reset Delay - [20 Sec]

Note: I just upgraded to ASUS P5K-E/WiFi-AP BIOS Revision 1013 today.

Hi
After setting plug anf play to yes you need to reinstall all drivers starting with chipset drivers

If problem accure only on fp usb ports then pluggin anf unpluggin usb in them can cause EMI because of not shielded wires that leads udb signal to fp, and this may interrupts work of wireless lan

Can the EMI problem be fixed? If so, how do I prevent the signal interruptions from interfering with the wireless network adapter every time I plug and unplug USB devices?

Hi

I am not sure that EMI is the problem I just guessing.

If this is the problem then you need to use well shielded cable to connect FP USB ports
Shiels must be grounded in both ends(MB side and case side).

What happen when you reinstall drivers after setting plug and play to yes?
Check in device manager whether all devices are installed and working properly
If require set PCI and PCI-E clocks manually to 33 and 100 respectively.
Also you can try to increase PCI catency timer
Change spectrum spread bios option
Disable transaction bootster ot vary with its settings
Install latest drivers available to corresponding manufacturers websites
