How to install Windows XP Prof. on ASUS X51RL?

Put the XP install disk in the drive and follow the prompts. Of course, if you do a reformat, this will delete all your existing settings and programs and your Vista install. If you do the install without reformatting, all your settings, programs and Vista will still be there, you just won't be able to see them or use them. If you create a new partition, and install XP on that partition without reformatting, you can recover your Vista install.

Just forgotten to amplify: this notebook offered with DOS operating system, and have drivers for Vista (very strange manufacturer's approach!). Big headashe. Vista is bad, will never use it.

And yes this Notebook has no Vista/XP license, you have to purchase one.

I am not sure about downgrading. There are only two choises: to buy notebook with Vista or with DOS only. I have Windows XP Profess. and I want install it. How to do this? Find no any instructions. Seller say this notebook come with drivers for Vista only, not for XP. It's just nightmare. Normally, its Buyer's Choice to decide what operating system he want. But not with this crappy micro$oft  bugware!

align="left">Did you ever install XP on a PC/NB?
You have to integrate or bind the sata drivers with nlite and burn a copy of the xp CD.
Then you define the boot order in bios  1. CDROM  2. HD and start the setup.

No, have not installed. I worked on properly configured operating systems starting from win 3.1.  I have no idea what means integrate/bind sata drivers with nlite. It is mainly task for PC manufacturer, not for the end user. A week ago I've sent a question to ASUS Technical Support, but have not received any responce. This is Asus Technical Support task to provide end users a clear instruction how to install windows XP and how to set appropriate drivers for XP.
Any clear, detailed step-by-step instruction will be appreciated.
