After having installed Windows Vista Home without any problem on my PC equipped with a P5N32-E SLI motherboard, I made several updates using Windows Update.

After a reboot, Windows launches but after a fiew second, my Samsung SATA hard disk run continously and the system freezes.

It is impossible to restore the system to a previous point. I can start in safe mode and uninstall some updates, but they are automatically resinstalled in normal mode.

I had to format and resinsatll Vista. This time, I noted the update wich causes my problem. It is:
"Nvidia corporation driver update for Nvidia nForce serail ATA controller" (177Ko).

Has someone problems with this update?
I'm unable to have good support from microsoft and nothing is said avout this update on the nvidia site.

Thanks

Hi
I have exactly the same problem and I'm still looking for a solution.
Currently I selected "hide" option on this update in order to stop the pop-up message.

I am having the same problems.

I have the P5N32-E SLI board and the ones I have installed now are NVIDIA nForce 590/570/550 Serial ATA Controller.

Now windows wants to install updates but when I did this before I was getting the blue screen, even in safe mode.

Should I stick with these or use the asus disk that came with the board?

Regards,

Derek

Just download and install the latest nforce drivers from Nvidia, that should work.

Never liked installing drivers from Windows Update, they don't provide version info prior to download.
