Hello I am using an Asus UL50VG notebook and I encountered a strange problem... each time i switch GPU from Discreet Graphics (nVidia G210M) to Battery Saving (Intel GMA4500) screen goes black for a moment - driver switching, and after a few minutes of working (about 2 -3 mins) screen goes black (flickers) again.... It is really annoying, and gives me that 'something is not exactly right' feeling ;) What can cause this effect? Can someone in here help me?

I think it is best to create a Technical Inquiry a try to solve with them directly.

I just noticed similar problem, when I forgot to close Photoshop or some game when switching graphics.

Hi, I had a similar problem with my UL50VT. Technical support couldn't help me, but I discovered a solution by myself:

Download the newest version of Power4GearHybrid (1.1.26), uninstall the old version and install the new one. Then, there is an option in the "extended options", where you can disable "INTEL DPST Control". This option seems to have caused the flickering on my notebook - at least, I have not seen it since...

By the way: you have to look for the download under the "Apps" category, it was not shown for my notebook category.

Hi I already figured out that its intel DPST fault... One can disable it in intel graphics configuration panel, but with p4g installed - it goes back to default every time one changes power mode. Tried with 1.1.24, and 1.1.25.. On 1.1.33 u have new option under windows power control > advanced "P4G intel DPST Settings" but 1.1.33 does not properlu work on UL50VG... I cannot find 1.1.26 anywhere on asus download. Could u point me to the right direction? Or send it to me at qba_dx (a) o2.pl ? EDIT: I found 1.1.26 installed it, and get ASUS P4G option to disable Intel DPST but.... ...it looks like P4G 1.1.26 also doesnt work properly like 1.1.33 When i switch power mode using P4G (for ex. from battery saving >> high performance) graphics switch properly but it looks like windows set power mode does not change with P4G?!

Hello dear Asus? When UL50VG users can expect an update to power4gear with option to disable Intel DPST, and working mode switching? I tried updates from other notebooks (for ex UL50VT) but neither 1.1.26 nor 1.1.33 did work properly (mode switching....) Last UL50VG version (1.1.25) ofc works properly, but it dont have option to disable Intel DPST.
