Drivers/utilities needed for F3Jc.

size (bytes)

The utilities/drivers needed for the Fn keys to operate properly are the first 5 zip files in the above table.  The files are found in the support area after selecting Notebook as product > Drivers as series > ATKDrv … as model in the Asus support download area.

Note: LAN drivers published after version 6.186.1103.2006 (for Vista 64-bit) seem to cause sound issues in network-based applications (in particular Skype streams but also WMP playback of local files, and video streams in Firefox), even after adjusting the receive and transmit buffers to the default values set by the old driver.

Old Vista x64-bit driver gives best results on Win 7 x64-bit:

The name of the NIC in this driver is: Realtek RTL8168/8111 Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0)

Device ID: PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&SUBSYS_11F51043&REV_01\4&3B198979&0&00E0

Driver: C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\Rtlh64.sys, 6.186.1103.2006 (English), 11/3/2006 09:35:58, 73216 bytes

Adapter default settings:

Auto Disable Gigabit (PowerSaving) = Disabled

Flow Control = Disabled

Interrupt Moderation = Enabled

IPv4 Checksum Offload = Rx & Tx Enabled

Jumbo Frame = Disabled

Large Send Offload (IPv4) = Enabled

Network Address = Not Present

Priority & VLAN = Priority & VLAN Enabled

Receive Buffers = 256

Shutdown Wake-On-Lan = Enabled

Speed & Duplex = Auto Negotiation

TCP Check sum Offload (IPv4) = Rx & Tx Enabled

Transmit Buffers = 64

UDP Checksum Offload (IPv4) = Rx & Tx Enabled

Wake on Magic Packet = Enabled

Wake on pattern match = Enabled

WOL & Shutdown Link Speed = 10 Mbps First

My system:
F3Jc with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_rtm.090713-1255); original seagate 120GB HDD replaced by 500GB WDC WD5000BEVT-00A0RT0 SATA HDD; original RAM replaced by 2048MB Crucial DDR2 RAM.

The sound is not working now that I have installed Windows 7 32 bits. I tried to install the mentioned driver, it did not work -

If I try to install it manually, Windows does not let me. If I uninstall the existing one, Windows will install it again. It's a nightmare, please help me!
