Hi everyone,

i`ve a huge problem with ma new asus eee pc 901 (1 day old)
The computer automatically turns off (instant off, no power at all).
The Battery is charged (~86%) but i am not able to turn on the computer again.

Seems, that there is no power available at all!
Sometimes, after some waiting (about 20-40 minutes) i am able to turn on the computer again,
but it does not take long and the eee-pc turns off again instantly.

Whats wrong?
Please help and sorry for my bad english,

Kind regards,

Some things to try:

1. Pull the battery, unplug the unit and press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.  Then try it.

2. Try pressing the reset button on the bottom (Very small hole - use a paper clip that has been bent to press into the hole.)

3. If you get it running get into the power settings and be sure it isn't set up to auto off .

4. If nobody has better ideas I'd call asus and see about getting a different unit or return it to the people you bought it from.

Sounds like it is overheating? Can you hear/feel the fan running? Does the bottom of the case get hot?
As it is so new, I'd return it for one that works.
Good luck!
