I can't seem to access the recovery on boot up. Do all the 1000H units have the recovery software on  the partioned drive or do some just have it on the supplied cd?

  Regards, John

John,
I looked into the users manual of the 1000h.  It seems the only way to restore your machine is by use of the supplied DVD.  I am amazed they did not set up most of the larger hard drive units with recovery partitions but they didn't.  You will need a USB DVD drive to recover and remember when you do this, you will return EVERYTHING on your machine like it was on day 1 so back up what you want to keep.

Best Regards,
DrZ

I am having a problem using the recovery disk-  pressing Esc when booting-up does nothing and the normal boot-up takes place.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Tap F2 immediately after startup, then enter the BIOS. Then disable Boot Booster. Press F10 to save settings, the Eee will reboot, on startup tap Esc.
