I've never quote seen this problem, but I'm trying to burn the ISO for Windows 7 with the Microsoft download tool, and it can't find the dvd drive. Unfortunately the tool does not give you the option to search for it. The only thing I can see that might be it is in Device Manager it shows up as a CD-ROM. Yet the drive functions and burns fine. I just upgraded to latest firmware.

Go here: http://www.topshareware.com/PowerISO-download-39402.htm and get the free trial version of Power ISO. I use mine all the time and it works great, cause it sounds like your software is limited. Or you can try the MagicISO located here: http://www.magiciso.com/download.htm if you don't like the power.

Thanks, man. I ended up using another ISO burning tool and got it done. Now the problem is, it starts the Windows 7 install, then it can't find drivers for the drive. Even though it's using it!
I searched other forums to no avail, and finally bought a 4gig USB drive to install from USB, but even that is having problems! Argh!

So now you have the ISO burned but it won't install? Is that what you're saying? Which drivers for what drive can't it find? Hard or optical drives? What does the warning say when it stops? Which mobo are you running? Give us some info on your setup, hardware/BIOS, and maybe we can help you get past it. If you running an old mobo the bios might not be able to handle it. I tried to install 7 on a P4 board and it blue screened me pretty quickly into the install.
