How can I set the printer (HP Laserjet 1020) by LPR/LPD with Ubuntu 12.04 OS with the ASUSWRT firmware of Asus RT-N66U Wirless router?

The below assumes you are logged into the Unity desktop, as I have been unable to add a printer under the Gnome3 Desktop using the built in Wizard.

1. From the top right admin menu select printers
2. select add
3. select Network printer
4. select LPD/LPR Host or Printer
5. Enter the IP of your router into host
6. Enter LPRServer into the Queue field and click forward
It will now search for drivers

Select the appropriate drivers for your printer and follow the prompts.

in gnome shell you type ctrl+alt+F2 (get a terminal).

then type system-config-printer and you should be able to add it.
