I'm unable to connect to the VPN server on the N66U. I'm using Win7 at work and created a VPN connection pointing to the router.

I have tried all the options in the VPN Server config page. I currently have broadcast support disabled and Authentication set to Auto. (Client is using CHAP V2). Encryption is set to MPPE-128. DNS and WINS are blank. I have a couple users created as well.

When I'm connecting It just stays at "Verifying username and password...", then fails with an Error 619.

I was on version 108, now on 112 and same issue.
In the router system log this is what I get:

Are you trying to connect from inside your local network? If yes, then it probably won't work - you have to be outside of your local network.

Unfortunately, this is most likely a problem with your Windows 7 install.
It seems many have the same problem.
A quick search on Microsoft KB reveals some interesting stuff.
Most likely, you have a firewall/antivirus solution blocking the connection to the VPN server.
You should specify the type of VPN as PPTP in Windows by going to the VPN adapter settings, in Security TAB.

I beat this into the ground using the built in client in Windows 7.  Instead, I enabled OpenVPN on my Asus router.  They provide nice help.  The client is free from ...>
>I also enabled 'direct clients to redirect internet traffic' so the gateway IP would be used.  It was needed in my case due to IP Whitelisting for site we use.
