Using the included (on CD) printer setup utility with Windows XP desktop enabled printing to my Brother DCP-7020 without any issues. But this desktop is being decommissioned soon.

How can I get the MacBooks on my network to print too?

In "Add Printer" (accessed through System Preferences) I chose "IP" and entered the router's IP address.

Do I choose IPP, LPD, or HP Direct -socket?

I've tried LPD and it appears to show a printer but it always switches to "paused" when I try to actually print.

When I attempt to open the "Utility" from printer "Options and Supplies" the status monitor reports "failed to connect" so something's wrong with the setup...???

Has anybody actually connected a Mac to a printer using this router?  Or, do I have to run out and buy a print server box?

Help please...

Hi, I had the same problem with OSX Lion and just figured it out:

• In the Add Printer dialog, select the IP tab
• In the Protocol field, select the Line Printer Daemon - LPD
• In the Address field, put in your router's IP adress (default is 192.168.1.1)
• In the Queue field, put in your router's IP adress (default is 192.168.1.1)
• In the Print Using field, try selecting your printer's software or leave on auto select

Hope this helps :)
