Just got Hitachi 7k4000 4 TB HDD ...  Can someone verify that this board will see the large drives ... I've got SSD and (2) 2 TB wd blk's already working, but neither the Intel or the Marvel controller can see the Hitachi drive ...Windows 7 64 bit as op/sys ...

Disk manager and hitachi GPT software, bios, nothing seeing the drive.....

I think the drive is D.O.A. and want to assure the vendor I did as much due diligence as possible

Thanks

MK

Hi K..

I have read of problem with some Asus boards seeing drives over 3TB...  but you would need to contact Asus directly to see what they know.  You might install 'Disk Unlocker' and see if that makes any difference.

Thanx for suggestion ..... I'm going to RMA the drive and try again ... hitachi web site lists asus P 67 chip set as compatible .... asus disk unlocker lists other than P 67 chip sets as working with unlocker ...  mainly those chip sets that won't address above 2048 et al ....P 67 appears to be able to address the big drives .... I was just looking for some practical experience from real world users here on the board.
