Recently re-installed windows XP onto my computer. I believe I installed all the correct drivers for my computer but my ethernet port isn't working. I know its not the ethernet itself or my linksys. Motherboard: P5N-E SLI Thanks for the help, Jake

what was the underlying reason for the re-install?
was it internet connectivity/network issues?
Have you updated windows. FULLY..sp3 and all the wonderful jazz?
Have you downloaded the most current drivers for your nic from the website?

my bad. if your nic is down, all these dl's wil have to be done from another computer (the one you are on to post here) and saved to usb/cd/dvd..wutever.
for ms site, just do sp3 network installation and it will allow you to download the full sp3 which actually is a combo from sp2. min sp1a is required for sp3 network install file. ..if my old brain remembers that far back..

Hi J..

I believe the ethernet adapter on your board is integrated into the MCP.. the 650i SLI chip.. So in order to get it to work, you need to install the platform driver package for the board...  It seems that is what you did.. but you might want to try the latest package from nVidia..

ms' site has it. search msdn or bing or msn for "xp sp3 network install"
nvidia's driver pack should also have the drivers you are looking for.

Should I un-install my previous drivers? When I restarted my computer after installation my resolution went hay-wire and the colors went inverted. In regards to Ulrich

Hi R..

The platform driver package doesn't affect the video subsystem...  but you may want to install the latest graphic adapter driver package for your video card.  You don't need to uninstall platform drivers but nVidia recommended up until recently that you should uninstall the video driver package prior to installing a new one.
