Otherwise Sandra benchmarks show it performing inline with reviews, I can get specific numbers later today if you like.

That would be very nice from you.

Thanks for the post DAShoe

Could you please explain how you posted that picture on this forum?

A friend of mine and myself have tried for ages to post a pic here with no luck!
Could you please let us know which link you used at Photobucket as well as what method you used to put  it into a post here?

Thanks much in advance!

It's my first post on this forum, so hello everyone. As we already know, Phenom II 920 works on M2N-SLI Deluxe, but it's not recognized properly. It looks like that there are other AM2 boards with nForce 5 series chipset that support Phenom II, but not only in standard settings, but also... overclocked to 3,5 GHz! Here, take a look http://www.rebelshavenforum.com/sis-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=45;t=000332;p=1 . In the middle of second page of that thread you can see TF560 A2+ board with Phenom II 920 easily overclocked to 3,5 GHz by changing its cpu freq from 200 to 250! The board is on nForce 560 chipset and its bios is from... March 2008 (!). What is strange to me in DAShoes's screen from CPU-Z is processor's multiplier, which is 16 - how is that possible while this processor have locked multiplier? And, DAShoe, could you lower multiplier to 14, set cpu freq to at least 250 and lower ht multipilier from 5 to 4? This would tell us what overclocking capabilities M2N-SLI Deluxe have...

I have the 940 BE which is unlocked, but when I get some time I will look into how it overclocks.

Right :).
Can't wait to see the results. If your 940 overclocks by multiplier and cpufreq, then it should be possible to overclock 920 using cpufreq only, and therefore - my idea to buy this board in 2006 was not bad at all :). Even without official PII support.

Thanks for the info and numbers!

I really hope Asus gives a proper BIOS update, though!

Hi Guys,

Like you I am eagerly awaiting a bios update.  However I seem to be running a newer BIOS on my M2N SLI Deluxe than you guys.

I am running version 1701 (beta) which I believe added support for the Athlon 7x50 X2 dual cores which have 2Mb of L3 cache and are based on a Phenom core.

I couldn't find it on the updates page (Only 1604. beta?) but only via the cpu support page at:-

http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=M2N-SLI%20Deluxe&os=17

If you scroll down until you find the new L3 cache X2's and look right there is a link for the 1701 bios.

No guarantees it helps with the Phenom II though.  But you never know.

Nice to see the benchmarks in this thread.  By luck I have a 6000+ so I can see how much of a boost a Phenom II would be.
